On 29 September 2026 the Cabinet approved the National Housing Authority's (NHA) low-income rental building programme for project year 2024: four projects, 596 units, about THB439 million in total investment.

The money comes from roughly THB102 million in domestic loans and roughly THB337 million in government subsidy, with the Finance Ministry arranging and guaranteeing the loan.

Four projects, four provinces

  • Sakon Nakhon: a four-storey building with 146 units on about 2.48 rai, with initial rents of about THB2,081 a month.
  • Phuket (Kathu): a five-storey building with 44 units on about 0.49 rai, initial rents of about THB3,140 a month.
  • Loei: a six-storey building with 75 units on about 1.02 rai, initial rents of about THB2,630 a month.
  • Narathiwat: a five-storey building with 331 units on about 6.31 rai, initial rents of about THB2,500–5,000 a month.

Land and who it is for

On land, the Cabinet backed the Treasury Department leasing land to NHA long-term at a concessionary rate for 30 years.

Target groups include low-income earners, older people, civil servants, government employees and people just starting work. Rooms are about 28 square metres and follow a universal-design approach.

Timeline and conditions

Under the plan, construction starts in fiscal 2025 and is expected to finish in fiscal 2027, with the first phase using about THB314 million left over from the Baan Ua Arthorn programme.

The next phase still requires NHA to submit annual budget requests, so the completion date is a target rather than a confirmed date.

Rents quoted are initial, project-by-project rates; anyone interested should confirm eligibility rules and actual rents with the NHA when applications open.
